Let’s take a look at the survey results from WorkVenture regarding the top 20 desired companies among Thai youth and their university backgrounds. In our company, we have noticed a recent trend where talented Thai job seekers aspire to work for Thai companies, and this trend is clearly reflected in this survey.
Among the top 20, Toyota, a Japanese company, ranks 8th, being the only Japanese company on the list. The remaining companies include 7 foreign companies such as Google, Apple, and LINE, and 13 Thai companies like SCG (Siam Cement Group), PTT (Thai Oil Public Company Limited), MitrPhol Group, and Thai Beverage.
Regarding the university backgrounds of employees, it is evident that the top universities like Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, and Kasetsart University remain popular choices, even among Japanese companies. These top companies tend to recruit a significant number of graduates from Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, and Kasetsart University. Particularly, up to the top 13, Chulalongkorn University graduates dominate the ranks.
Apart from these three universities, other institutions that made it to the list include Mahidol University, Assumption University, Chiang Mai University, Khon Kaen University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, and Bangkok University.
Mahidol University is renowned for its medical faculties but is also known for its rigorous standards across other faculties, comparable to Chulalongkorn, Thammasat, and Kasetsart. King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang is popular among engineering talents, even for Japanese companies.
Chiang Mai University and Khon Kaen University are esteemed regional universities. Assumption University is a Christian university known for its high proficiency in English. Bangkok University is known for its large student population as a prominent private institution.
